I can get my written work online? I have written a novel in Microsoft word and want to put it on a website for people to view and give me feedback, any ideas?

PS, I'm not very well off so no expensive options please!

Thanks

There are communities that offer free sites (groups). MSN has groups, Byregion has pages, Authors Den has pages.. Look them up and see what you think. BTW are you giving your words away? or are you looking to sell it? Lulu is another publishing site.

In this day and age, publishing is not entirely necessary, what you need to do is get yourself known as a good writer and find out how to sell software securely over the internet.

Publish and freely distribute a synopsis and the first two chapters, it will help if it stops at a cliff hanger. Then charge for the completed work.

I would recommend investing in fliers with this text and contact information for anyone who wants to purchase the entire novel. Then go to some large City when it's really busy, like a Saturday morning and hand them out. Leave piles at book shops etc.

As regards selling, I can't help I would suggest speaking to Amazon for advice.

Try putting it on FictionPress.Com - it's a great website for people to post their original works and the place where I spend most of my internet time. Basic accounts are free, but you can upgrade to a better package, although if you are simply looking for feedback, the basic account should be fine. All works on FictionPress are also copyrighted, so there is less worry about commercial plagiarism. If you do decide to open an account there, let me know and I'll read it and leave a review (if you want).

Is that not kind of silly? I mean with all due respect after all that hard work you have done, you dont want someone taking it and using it as their own do you?
And you never know, it could happen, I would first make your work official somehow before doing that kind of thing
Good luck to you with that anyway

I would scrap that idea. There are people who would abuse you. You can have it printed (not in book form) fairly cheap. Maybe less that $100 for 5 or more copies. Then you can give them to friends who will help you with suggestions.
