Go to a Shelter. Once you are there, you can meet with a Case Manager who should be able to refer you to the other agencies who can assist you with food, clothing, showers, medical, & a referral for a bed for the night. Housing won't be easy, unless you have children with you, then you sometimes get help faster. If you are a "party animal", the shelter probably isn't for you because of the rules in regards to alcohol & drugs (you'll be kicked out). If you don't want housing or shelter, you can still live in the streets & feed yourself by collecting cans, trading services for money or goods (wash car windshield for a burger). Many homeless people make great night watchman in exchange for being allowed to stay on property & out of the limelight of the "regular" street crowd. Many of them panhandle for money. Some people can't make it without others, while some people prefer to go it alone. The Churches do a lot to help the homeless community who have no ID or papertrail, while the other agencies help people who have a more easily accessible past history in regards to ID, Social Security, & a past history WITH a papertrail that is easily traced. Being homeless is not a life sentence, but when you are actually out there in the streets, you feel as if you will be there forever! Many are traumitized from this experience due to the violence & abuse by both the other street people & the System that was put in place to help, but the people who are working & volunteering in these places prey on the homeless, thinking they can get away with it. If a person keeps trying & goes from place to place to place, eventually they will get the help they need...or die trying! I spent a lot of nights hiding out in utility rooms & under vehicles to stay out of sight & safe. In L.A. you can ride the bus all nite when the shelter is full or you missed the check in time.

I'd start with getting some sort of a job - although without an address, it's hard to fill out an application. Goodwill would probably be a good place to start because they understand such situations.

I would find my way to an office offering public assistance (ie welfare) to get some sort of income so that I could improve my situation, and if that didn't work, I would do whatever I could to get myself to a warmer climate so I didn't freeze to death.

In the absence of any "real" source of income, I would pick up cans and bottles to redeem for cash just to have a few dollars to buy something to eat, and would visit the local shelter when necessary.

I hope to hell I never have to do any of this stuff!!!!

Monday-Tuesday
I would stand at fast food drive Thru and pick up the money that people (like me) accidentally drops by the pick up window.
Wednesday-Thursday
I would go to my local home of the homeless shelter and hang out there since you can only hang out there for a day or two
Friday
I would claim I am a vet and go to the nearest VA place and tell war stories and get free beers.
Saturdays
Chill time at my cartoon box
On Sundays I would go to some of those crazy Churches (church of all nations) and beg to be saved, they usually have food at the end of every "mass".

I would walk around all day seeing the different parts of nature that I had forgotten to appreciate.

By walking I would be getting exercise.

To survive as in what I would eat.

Hopefully I could find a church or civic organization that would feed me.

I suppose I would find a nice bench to sleep on at night.

Maybe not the kind of answer you were looking for.

I wouldn't be homeless cuz I've never been without a job and never will. I have taken menial and utterly horrible jobs to make ends meet and would do it again if it meant keeping me off the street.

Probably go to every agency I could get to, to find shelter and food. Try to make a friend who knows how to survive on the streets.
