me and my female friends have been discussing this and they say its a thing of the past. and that they would never use one. so im just curious if this is in fact a thing of the past or still presently used?

yes. summers eve. they are now disposable. women dont have douche bags.

Um...it is not a thing of the past, I douche when I need to, but now they have freshness wipes too. I don't know how old you girls are, but there will be a time when you will want to, like at the end of your period, it's just the clean thing to do.

I dont. I tried it one time and I didnt like it. I think its a thing of the past. But Im sure there are women out there that still do it.

Yes, present day women do douche. However, one has to be carefull not to do it too much or it can upset the bacteria leval and cause problems like yeast infections. My doctor says not to do it, so I don't.

i think theyre still used by women of older generations. most doctors these days advise against their use because they cause infection and ruin the ph of the vaginal area. i dont think i have ever had cause to use one. They prescribe something of that sort for women after childbirth, but i dont think its a complete douching, just a jet of water to clean the outside of that area.

They are actually not very good to use, I used to until I found out that they cause bactierial infections. Becasue you are not actually cleaning any thing but pushing all the yucky stuff back to where it's not suppose to be.

I have never used one and I'm 42 years old. They cause way more harm then they do good. I can't imagine ever using one for any reason.

I think people my Mothers age still use them because that was the thing to do back then (70's?)

Most women today use floaters. They run watere in the bathtub and then do squats until they feel really clean.

Douches leave women more susceptible to infection because they alter the vaginal pH and destroy normal flora (good bacteria). I don't use them.
