I read a "role-playing" type book as a child and can't find one anymore. It was a book where you could make decisions throughout the story and change the outcome. It was not a dungoen & dragons type game and it had no dice or pull-outs just a situation that would require deciding where the story goes (basically in multiple choice fashion) and you could read it 100 time over and change it each time.

There was a story series called 'choose your own adventure' that made books like that. I have one from a different printer at home called 'masters of mazes'.

I remember those. They were fun! I would think it might be classified under fantasy. Call your local library and speak to someone in youth services. They will know the name of the series.

I remember those books. It would have options like, if you want her to enter the house, turn to page 94. I don't know the genre, but I'd go Children's books, maybe mysteries.

Yes, they still make them, just ask an associate in your local bookstore where to find them, they should help you.
