I don't know how efficent an email could be. Who here reads spam? If sender is someone unknow I don't bother to read it.
Try some old fashioned adtertisement ways. They'd work better than spam.
and if it is a business... get money from somewhere for that advertisement.

Getting the e-mails of buyers is very easy. Just go to your nearest trade centers and collect as many visiting cards you can. The toughest part is getting the people to read your mail. Ask how yourself how many promotional mails u get and do you think twice before you delete them?

I have just started an International trade business of home and fashion accesories, and have got a lot of email addresses, but the point is no one ever replies.
You have to map out a different strategy if you are really serious about contacting clients. Try and meet them face to face, our send normail snail mail before you go and meet them.
The best part about snail mail is that people do open them and read it atleast once.
WIth emails you would never get to know who is a serious client and who is a fake.
Businesses even today in the age of internet age run on trust which can never be established on internet and through emails.
I wish you all the luck! :)

Sometimes other business' web sites will have the employee's e-mails right on the site if you look for how to contact the company. Going to public events like farmer's markets or church/temple and making contacts with those who are interested in your business is also a good idea. If you plan on sending regular e-mails its always nice to make sure you are sending them to people who are actually interested in your business. Good luck.

There are a few ways but it really depends what type of business you have. A really good option is to send out flyers by mail. It is not as easy as email, but at least you know your message got out there. Go to your county or city offices and get addresses by zip code. Another way is to join certain mailing lists or clubs to get addresses/email addresses. I guess your last option would be to cold-call and ask them if they are interested in your services.

That's called SPAM and it's against the law. The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.
