I was on the pill for almost 1 year. I stopped taking it last month to try to conceive, and I had a normal period on May 23. Before using the pill I always had normal cycles(approx. 28 days). I have used many ovulation calculators to predict when I would ovulate, and that day should have been yesterday June 5. I am using Answer Ovulation Tests to predict my LH Surge. I tested positive for LH surge yesterday(Monday) and also positive this morning and the test line was darker today than yesterday. Since Monday EARLY morning(12am) my lower abdomin started hurting like really dull cramps. The pain came on stronger yesterday evening and is continuing on. It's not really painful like something is seriously wrong, it just feels kind of tender. I had (unprotected) sex late Saturday night, and also early Monday morning.. Could be signs of ovulation? Or a sign that I conceived & the egg may be fertilized and is doing its thing? Is it possible that ovulated yesterday and my LH is still positive?

The pain has stopped(6/6-2pm). So I am assuming that it must have been ovulation pains.

I got off birth control last month also! It was late into the 12th day when i felt a slight pain just a little above my ovary, It gradually came on stronger and lower each day. untill the 14th day. It wasn't a horrible pain and just like you, before i got on birth control my periods were always normal. But the pain was enough to concern me, I went to medical at work. She told me all the things it could be then i told her that I got off the pill and it was then clear to her that i was ovulating. The advise I got was try not to worry about all the feeling and just relax. Because the more that you fret over it the harder it will be to conceive. I know that is very very hard to do, because it is such an exciting part of life. Good luck!!!

I am in the same position as you, ha! I just got off the pill too. And yeah, I've been feeling that cramping, mainly in the lower left side. I was hoping it meant something was being planted, but I think it's just ovulation and getting back into the swing of things. Unfortunately. I've only been off for a few weeks, so I've yet to see if I'm going to have a "normal" period and what not. You never know though, don't get discouraged!

It could be ovulation. Ovulation isn't a one day thing. It happens over a few days. When I am not on birth control I get ovulation cramps as well.

And don't let people tell you you can't get pregnant the first month. I missed a few days of pills after being on it for over a year (stomach bug couldn't keep anything down) and got pregnant with my beautiful baby girl =) Reducing sugar in your diet has been known to increase fertility. I wish you lots of luck!!

I always got pain when i ovulated! I don't think you could feel cramps from being pregnant yet! I think it's too early! YOur body may just be getting used to being off the pill, it happened to me too!
If you are still worried i would see a doctor to make sure everything is ok!
