we went to a house after the bar one night and forgot are keys. so my boufriend went to the landlords place to get are other set that they keep. but the landlords said that there not doormen at that time in the morning. do they have to give you your keys even at that time in the morning?

Landlord-tenant obligations are set by state law. You can find out what your rights and obligations are by doing a yahoo search on the words 'landlord tenant' and also your state name.
I suspect your landlord has a period of time in which to respond to any request. This is usual.

I honestly don't know. I'd find out what the rental laws are in your State. the laws may be different when you're renting from a person, rather than a management agency that runs a lot of different properties. personally, I think he's just being a jerk b/c mistakes do happen.

READ YOUR RENTAL/LEASE AGREEMENT, 90 % OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WILL BE IN THAT AGREEMENT . IF THEY AGREED TO KEEP THE SPARE SET OF KEYS AND HAD MENTIONED BEFORE THAT THE KEYS ARE THERE FOR YOUR DISPOSAL THEN YES THEY WOULD HAVE TO GIVE YOU THE KEYS ,BUT IF THE KEYS ARE SPARE KEYS FOR THE LANDLORDS USE THAN NO THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TO LOAN YOU THE KEYS AT ANY TIME.

Bummer if you don't have a landlord that will do that for you. Try not to make it a habit and certainly give them a little thank you gift.(flowers, cookies, etc.)
