but why is it that in the gay world there IS so much damn drama? Whats up with that? Jealousy/cheating/lying...Cheating is prominent I've found.
And why is it that all lesbians know ALL lesbians? And vice versa for gay guys. What is this?

Ok, the part about all gay people knowing all gay people....
I know tons of lesbians and then Ill be like 'hey, my friend so and so is so cool' and she will be like 'OMG I know her!'
And all the chicks I know, know all the chicks I know and I know all the chicks they know. And we're all connected, Its ******* crazy man!

I cant speak for the guys but I think for women, its because we're passionate and vocal...we can be jealous, vile, revenge wanting people....put 2 of us together and look out! but I know just as many lesbians that don't do drama and those are the ones I hang with.......as for the part about 'all lesbians know ALL lesbians' I'm not sure what you mean by that one.......maybe if you clarify.....

I would have to say, it's like that in straightland too.As for the gay people all knowig eachother, I'm stumped...One could argue that gay people have less morals= more cheating, jealousy, lying, etc. But ? I don't know about that. I'm straight and far from perfect, maybe the lifestyle is too stressful and promotes more drama?

I LOVED Melissa's answer. It made so much sense. I'm lucky in that I didn't discover I was gay or find my partner until later in life. I'm 34 and my partner is 28. She's actually more mature and settled in many more ways that I am!!! LOL!!! She's been in the drama circle and played the field. She's settled down and ready to raise a family now. (We share my two kids.) I gotta agree with Melissa, though. I think the older you get the more settled and more mature your outlook on life becomes. You've gotten alot of things figured out by that point in your life. Good luck, hunny!!!

Well, depending on the size of the city you live at, but it's true that we all know each other. Probably because we're a community, maybe a small community. And the drama comes out of that, we all know about each other, all the gossip, etc...but, I'm sure there's a lot of drama in the straight world as well.

I think that no matter if its in the straight world or not some people feel that is how they keep focused on life, maybe they have nothing better to do with their time.
I know that I see it all the time too in the gay community but it is everywhere,

There will always be drama for everyone. It just depends on the person you know. I know some over-dramatic men (str8)/women (str8) same for gay men i suppose. i live in rural america, and i still don't know many gay people, a few, but not all. I suppose i don't care too really.

dear super......there is indeed a lot of drama.....specially when you are young and gays are still trying to figure things out.....it's fun, it's new, it's almost like a rebellion.....kids and young adults have to get as much as they can they think......it gets better......i am 38 now, been gay my whole life.....and now, my relationship is wonderful and mutually respectful, with neither of us daring to cheat. the jealousy? a great woman once said....."He who is not jealous is not in love." so, we will just have to deal with that just like the cavemen did, i guess. Good luck, mini me....i was in the same place once.....trust me, it gets great.

it's about sexual insecurity and insecurity in general which existed among all people. throw in the social and political oppression towards homosexuals, voila!! you have the perfect recipe!!
