WHY do woman love to lie about this?

Why? I am not trying to be rude but why do A LOT of woman like to lie when they are asked where they are from?

You ask them " What nationality are you from?"

Then they tell you " Oh I am a mutt I am 1/2 chineese, 1/3 italian, 1/5 German , 1/8 French, 1/3 Portuguese, 1/2 Chiwawa and part German Sheperd"

It's silly they mention every country in the world and the most annoying part is when they finish naming half the world they finish it off all the time by saying :

"Oh yeh I'm also part native American "Cherokee"!

Then I ask them oh which family member is french or whatever and they always say oh my grandma or great grandma that they know nothing about.

I find this highly annoying.....I asked a simple question where you were from and NOT for you to trace your blood origins.

I mean I am from Central America ( El Salvador) I am light skinned with light hair. Where people ask me where I am from I DONT say

"oh I am part Mayan Indian and 1/2 Spanish."

What I say depends on who I'm talking to and where I am. If I"m inside the US I say Oregon. Outside I say US. Nothing else unless someone asks. Then they get the whole song and dance, if they ask. I think they might be interested. Evidently, you are not. Perhaps you should try to be interested in girls or don't even bother asking them. Besides, why do you care where they are from. It's where they are that is more important. Grow up and get a life. The women you reject are better off without you.

Wow. If this is the biggest thing you're peeved about, you should throw a party.

Most people nowadays want to know all that information, when they ask (I do not know why...I find it rude to ask, to be honest)

I know I am half German because my Dads grandparents were from there, and his parents were full blood as well. Since I didn't know the grandparents, does that make me any less German?

They are hardly lying, just answering a (very rude and intrusive, if you ask me) question.

Why is it such an issue to you what people's ethnicity is anyway?

There are so many issues for you to get upset about and you choose this? I wish my life were so simple and uncomplicated. Instead of being angry, you should be thankful.

And it's hardly a phenomenon that is exclusive to women....

Perhaps it is your delivery of the question. This country is an amalgamation of said same. So...if you view this as being dissed, think again....we hail from Europe....I DO...and there are tons of things I could say about living in a crappy country, only 200 plus years old, an echelon factor off the charts, we live in a very bruised society....and I refute the idea that it begins with me. Any argument will END with me. To the person who thought that based upon my q of frustration, NO it isn't all about me. I am a humanist..looking forward to more traveling. Honey, I fly Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy under the radar....I have no need for a stroke or flattery. I am confident, know my abilities and capabilities....lived, loved and learned....so, you took the pic at face value? At least it was NOT a stupid 'cartoon avatar' ~ get a grip hon....the pic that i have is a cam shot...a bad one at that, tho all I could use. well, first of all if some one asked me where I was from I would say what state i was from. I wouldn't even think that you were asking want nationality I was. But if you did ask me my heritage. then I would be honest about it. more than likely every one else was honest about it too. I don't know where you live. but it has been said that the united states is a melting pot of people. I don't know of very many families now a days who absolutely only marry in there own nationality. I am polish Irish and Indian. My fathers parents (which yes i know them. I can tell you their address, full names, what they look like, which brand cigs. my grandmother smokes...ect..) are both polish. they came to the U.S. in 1954 from Poland. My mothers father was Irish. his parents come here from Ireland in the 20's. and my mothers -mom was a native American(Indian) . However, I can't answer, what tribe, group, or clan she was from. she just always said that she had Johnny Bull in her. whatever that meant. I never knew my mothers' father. Died when my mom was 9 years old of cancer. My mother's mom( my maw maw) was and will always be the best woman I have ever met. I am very honored to be able to say that I am related to her! And that has nothing to do with her nationality!. If you only want to be associated with people of your exact nationality ...then maybe you should go back to where you came from!

Where exactly does the lying take place?? I never met, nor do I know very much about, my ancestors, however, I have no reason to doubt what my parents told me about my heritage..

Anyway, I've noticed this to be an American phenomenon, you don't get us Brits rambling on for hours about great-great-great-grandmama who married an Armenian sailor whose parents were...blahblahblah... So what I think is that it's just an attempt by those dashed colonials to invent some history for themselves, as their upstart little country doesn't have very much of its own.

Perhaps the girls don't want to be rude to any part of their heritage. I mean, the ancestors on my Mom's side came over on the Mayflower, so I know there is some American Indian in there somewhere but I couldn't tell you where.

if you don't like the answer...quit asking. now days it is very rare to find some full blooded, most everyone is a mishmash of some kind. why is nationality so important? if you like the person, does it matter where their grand parents came from?

maybe they're proud of everything that's in them.there's no one set answer if you have alot of nationalities...i would think what you are the most of,, is what you go with...huh? like me..i'm mexican..indian and french canadian but i have more mex so i just say mex !! why make things tougher eh?
