Sometimes my ovary will hurt on either side that I am about to ovulate from. I have never had my abdomin hurt though if that is what you mean.
You should read "taking charge of your fertility". It helped me get pregnant twice and I didnt need to buy any expensive ovulation kits. Look into it!

Yes you can sometimes feel yourself ovulate. You ovulate on one side each month. It rotates. So this month you might be feeling it more on your right side and next month you will feel it more on the other side.
Not all women feel it. But I do almost every month

I have little cramps or pains on my left side just about everytime I ovulate. That's how I knew when to not have intercourse before we got married, and then when to have intercourse after we got married :)
