I heard they use old thrown away bottles and put coke in it again. but, they don't clean it.

Being not very clean country. I've read an account written by one tourist-girl, she has written that in India people are not shy to do the natural things like going to the toilet actually without going to the one, but by doing it openly outside the house in the street or even from the balcony of the 2nd floor, that's why the smell and views are like in the WC. Probably in the places where historical monuments are located these things are not allowed by if go deeper then be ready to meet something unpleasant.
