Trust me, doctors have a lot of other stuff on their minds during a gyn exam. They have seen hundreds or thousands of naked people, including ones with foul discharge, odors, etc. There is nothing fun about the exam for anyone involved....but it important nonetheless.

And...the hymen can be broken during a gyn exam if: 1) the hymen covers a large percentage of the introitus, or 2) the doctor uses a speculum that is too large, or 3) the doctor is not careful. It is unusual but may be unavoidable.

No, a GYN exam will not break the hymen. Physicians are very sensitive to the importance of the hymen and would never compromise the woman by doing anything to damage it.

No, GYNs aren't sexually aroused during an exam. And even if they were, it's the law in most countries that the physican has to have at least one other female (usually a nurse) present at all times.
