I mean in today's society, what is considered one of the most detrimental or harmful things for a teenaged person to do.

Anything that causes mental or physical pain. I think as a whole, any teenager that justifies in their mind, something that is considered dangerous is the worst thing that a teenager can do. Drinking Alcohol at a young age can be worst than cutting or vice a versa. There are so many dangerous things, it is hard to pin point one.

Methamphetamine~"one in seven high school students will try meth,"; "99% of first-time meth users are hooked after just the first try"; "only 5% of meth addicts are able to kick it and stay away"; and "the life expectancy of a habitual meth user is only five years."
From the information provided by the individual states: one in seven of those teenagers, or three million, will try meth; 99% of those will get hooked; and 95% of those who are hooked won't be able to kick the habit and thus will die.
The fallout from these addicts will be insurmountable ~ children of meth mommies, families of addicts suffer, schools with more intense drug problems, society with more addicts to provide for, jail overcrowding, explosions, deaths...and the list goes on and on.
The use of this drug is on the rise all over the country and with the statistics~there may be no end in sight except for our next generation.

Just being a teenager. Check yourself. If what you do and with whom, and it does not feel immediately like the right thing,(gut-feeling) abort the quest.

Loose family bondage has taken them to drugs, sex and a desire for life with least responsibilities / obligations towards own life and family.

drugs, doing drugs, dealing drugs, everything that has to do with drugs. when they do drugs they scew up their brains and get them addicted which leads them to more dangerous drugs. dealing drugs you end up smoking half of what you're suppose to sell, and that leads you into bad doo-doo with the wrong crowd, and people talk about you. when i see people i knew in high school that were into drugs, i still think of them as burnouts and that's exactly what i tell the people who want to hire them.

drinking, and driving too fast. Lots of teenagers are getting killed in wrecks, because they are driving fast, while drinking. I think drunk driving is the number one killer of teenagers.

Huffing is a huge rage...and unless you are up on it, it is almost undetectable until you go to the morgue to claim the child .
