Radiation from the TV destroys the cone and rod cells of your retina. If you are destroying more cells than the body can create, you are gradually destroying your eyesight.

A couple of things can happen, depending on the person and how far from the TV they are.
1. If you stare at anything too long you can forget to blink and your eyes can dry out. This doesn't really damage them but it can be very uncomfortable.
2. If you stare at a fixed distance for too long, especially if it's close up, the muscles in the eye will get imbalanced. This is a common cause of myopia (nearsightedness). Since this can be fixed with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery it's not really a big deal.

light entering the eye is focused in front of the retina and distant objects cannot be seen sharply.
In high myopia the eyeball is unusually long, whereas in physiological myopia the eyeball length is normal but the power of the cornea is too great for the axial length

Our eyes are the mirror of our souls!
Thus, if we watch TV for long, our brain gets humiliated, bombarded with garbage, misinformation, lies, etc., thus our eyes will show weak!
Also, depending on the TV, they will get different diseases, according to the person.
Further, as we press them in a non physical environment they will try to adopt to the new environment and thus get hurt, different way for each one!
