Love Me Do - September 1962. It was their first official single. However some of their music was previously bootlegged.

Juan is correct....and the beat goes on. And if I am not mistaken, you did mean the Beatles right? as in 1963 another group called The Beetles in the USA came out and were not even a flash in the pan.

The first one was called something in 1969 written by George harrison

I think it was Love Me Do, back in '62. However, I have heard that some folks copied them doing covers and the like back in Berlin even earlier. that may be an urban myth, though
