Love does not know colour

I am from the South and yes, interracial relationships happen. I personally don't have a problem with it, but my family has strong beliefs about it and they firmly stand against it. I agree with the saying that love knows no color, but it doesn't change the fact that you'll see a black guy with a white girl and automatically people start whisperin and talkin. I don't care if two different races fall in love, it doesn't bother me a bit because it is common around here. I still wouldn't date a guy from another race because of my family and I have a boyfriend anyway. I think it's ok if it's for the right reasons, but some people don't like it. I personally don't have anything against people who do it.

I live in Oklahoma and am in what people would call an interracial relationship. I'm white and he is Indian...I didn't even see ourselves as interracial until an outsider pointed it out. His skin is darker than mine and his family goes to the occasional Pow wow..Kind of like our Family reunions except for the dancing and the costumes. We have a lot to learn from each other..but don't dwell on our relationship being interracial to others. We love each other and that is all that matters.

I hadn't really seen it as common, but there are a number of mixed-race children around. Some people claim religious objections, but I have found nothing in Scripture that wouldn't be better interpreted as frowning upon marriages between people of different religious beliefs, rather than different races. If I see an interracial couple, I might give a longer-than-usual glance because it's uncommon, but I see nothing wrong with it, if the couple makes an effort to understand each other's culture.

Yes, to some extent. You see it more in big cities, but in small towns it seems like everybody sticks to their own race. I don't know why, maybe there's a lot more pressure and the feeling of being judged.
