Truth tends to be so in certain areas: politics, media, law. In a perfect world (HA!) it would be a guiding force for all things. People tend to foul things up.

It is irrelevant because it's transitory...ie, it's a moving target. Truth is based on the known facts or evidence of the time, which is always changing. Remember, we used to think the world was flat and that was the 'truth' of the time, but new evidence came along and the 'truth' changed. So Truth is irrelevant because its transitory.

There is no such thing as truth. There are such things as facts.
Truth (capital T) is fiction. It is a view on facts based on your mindset.
"It is raining" is a fact. It is either right or wrong. "Global Warming Caused It", is a Truth.
Tell you what, hitting the ball back in your court. Tell me a Truth that is not a fact and is indisputable.

It depends on whos truth is being told and if the person receiving the information decides to believe it. It's sad but true.

Truth is relevant, whether we know what it is or not. What we believe is true is seen by how we act, react and is the reason we do each thing we do. Knowing the truth about certain things in life can make us healthier physically, emotionally and spiritually. Believing "misbeliefs" about things, especially in relationships, can cause unnecessary strife.

Truth is irrelevant. If this statement is true, then you have a problem, because the truth value is important. If the statement is false, then truth is relevant. Are you caught in a conundrum, or do you consider yourself a liar?

The truth is what you make it to be. Because how would you know that the information you hold is the truth. It's a matter of opinion of what we think is truth or lies.

Pragmatism: Pragmatism is a philosophical movement, developed in the United States, which holds that both the meaning and the truth of any idea is a function of its practical outcome. Fundamental to pragmatism is a strong antiabsolutism: the conviction that all principles are to be regarded as working hypotheses rather than as metaphysically binding axioms. A modern expression of empiricism, pragmatism was highly influential in America in the first quarter of the 20th century. Pragmatism has tended to criticize traditional philosophical outlooks in the light of scientific and social developments.
Charles Sanders Peirce is considered the founder of pragmatism, although later he changed the name of his philosophical position to "pramaticism." He developed it as a theory of meaning in the 1870s, holding that an intrinsic connection exists between meaning and action -- that the meaning of an idea is to be found in its "conceivable sensible effects" and that humans generate belief through their "habits of action." William James gave a further direction to pragmatism, developing it as a theory of truth. True ideas, according to James, are useful "leadings"; they lead through experience in ways that provide consistency, orderliness, and predictability. John Dewey was another leading pragmatist whose influence on educational and social theory is still prevalent in American society.
Instrumentalism: This refers to John Dewey's criticism of the traditional notions of truth which is embodied in his theory of instrumentalism, which he defines as "an attempt to constitute a precise logical theory of concepts, judgments and inferences in their various forms, by primarily considering how thought functions in the experimental determinations of future consequences." Dewey made inquiry, rather than truth or knowledge, the essence of logic.
