I know, you are TRYING to sound really intelligent.
Should the US been better prepared? Yes. But, what would have been everyones reaction if pre-Sept 11 the Government would have started rounding up Muslims and questioning them? The Government still has to be careful not to "offend" idiots who feel this is a religious war or people who wouldn't pick up a gun to save their own families much less their way of life.
Were we involved? Well, the policies under Clinton made our enemies think that we wouldn't really do anything. They thought that idiots like the American Communist Liberals United(aka ACLU) ran our policies. We-the USA-shocked the sh*t out of them when we followed through with kicking their butts right back to their stinky caves.

Honestly, I agree with dida. Are you really so uneducated as to think that it is even remotely possible that the president of the united states would go so far as to attack his own people (civilians) at that, in order to provide reason to attack another country. You say the government would cover it up. President clinton couldn't even get a ******* without it becoming world news. On that note, too if he wasn't too busy getting hummers, and cutting military intelligence/arms funding maybe 9/11 never would have happened in the first place.

I tend to think so. I saw the Pentagon tape, and that was not a 757 that hit it. I used to cater those planes. Now, I know this sounds crazy, but I think it was a hit by Bush to draw support for the invasions. I have no hard proof, but the government would hide everything anyway.
