namsaev, You are a typical Bush supporter. First, did I say that I support gay marriages? No, I didn't you idiot! Second, he makes an *** of himself every day, and he THINKS he is king, you moron. Third, you probably stare at yourself in the mirror and wish you were important.

Amendments to the Constitution are for limitation on what the government can and cannot do. The First Amendment guarantees the government cannot restrict our speech, our press, our religion, our ability to ask the government to do something, or our right to assemble. The Amendments are great as long as they are about what the government can't do. We get into serious problems when we use the Amendments to restrict the people. I give you Prohabition (the 18th Amendment). This was the only Amendment that restricted the people and it was a failure that required another Amendment (21)to recind it and helped organized crime become a dominant figure in American history and criminalize marijuana. Our government and especially our president should not attempt to use the Constitution to limit the people. The objective of the Bill of Rights written by the Anti-Federalists was to offer protection to the people from a possibly abusive government. It was not to carry on a right wing conservative agenda.

*LOL* instead of Aristotle you should use the handle Alfred E Newman.

King George lived in England. I thought he was dead. At least that's what the history books say. I didn't know he was still alive. He must be quite old now. And he's proposed a ban on gay marriages. That seems absurd. All marriages should be at least happy events.

Now if you are talking about the Presidents stance on a ban of homosexual marriages. I'm all for it. You've already redefined homosexual into gay which is 'supposed' to make it more acceptable to the hetrosexual members of society. I won't attempt to speak for the rest of the hetrosexual community. But I'll stay with the dictionary on what defines marriage when it concerns humans. A union between a man and a woman. Not two men or two women. If you redefine it to include homosexuals will you stop there? Or will you later want to include another species? I can see it now -- a wedding announcement that includes a picture of a man and a chicken. Would you class that as wierd? That's how I see two men or two women wanting to get married. Wierd.

I tried putting two batteries in my flashlight with the positive ends together. Didn't work. But if your way was OK it should have.

I don't believe that there should be any gay marriages at all in this country because, God said it is an abomination, And I totally believe that this Country is in grave danger, If these things are allowed to continue God will destroy this country. Just look at New Orleans, and believe me Vegas is next! If you want to be with your guy or girl leave the freakin country and go where it is legal! And Calling Bush a King...not hardly.

What about banning Viagra (instead of paying for it) in older widowed men? That is hurting Social Security. There is a new trend where older men who have not been able to perform sexually in years get a Viagra prescription(at $10 a pill) then younger gold-diggers marry them for their houses and pension and their SS benefits. If we are to believe same sex marriage will hurt SS then we should be able to see the statistics on old men/younger women unions brought about because of Viagra.
I believe in the same civil rights regardless of sexual orientation. Not too long ago it was illegal for 2 different races to marry. That law was abolished because of progress, now we are sliding backwards. I'm not gay but I support equal rights because I love our Constitution. Everyone in the US should no matter how homophobic they are.

Ah, the sweet smell of ignorance and bigotry. The post by the user "questionmark" who equated gay marriage with molesting a dog was a great example on how enlightened our society has become.

Bush is just trying to boost his ratings by bashing an unpopular minority because his approval ratings are sinking to horribly low levels as more and more Americans realize what a horrible job he is doing as President.

Ok, so I know in the Bible it says its wrong..... but I keep thinking about that whole seperation of church and state. If gay marriage is to be banned, then make it illegal for adultery. Make it Ileagal to lust/covet. Reinstate public stonnings.

This whole this is ridiculous! What about our human rights! ( I am not gay, but I do support gay/human rights) Everyone should be able to get married.

argh!

I just get mad when one by one rights are being stripped away from us.

I belive homosexuals and lesbians could have a civil union, but not a christian marriage. It is unbiblical, just read romans chapter one.So I don't believe in something being ordained by the church that is against what scripture says.20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Marriage should be between one man and one woman. God made them male and female. Adam said, "A man shall leave His parents & find His woman & they shall become one flesh". A man is not complete without His woman & a woman is not complete without her man. This is God's purpose. everything else is confusion. God never said that a man shall leave His parents so He can find a pet, man or anything other than what is written & they shall become one flesh.

God will bless the wedding & marriage of a man & woman.

Well, since I believe the Bible is true (a whole other discussion... http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-t003.html ) and since the Bible says that it is wrong, I'd say this is a good thing! There are also examples of other ancient civilizations that got morals as bad as this, and then collapsed. Aren't we supposed to learn from history?

And about those who talk about human rights. God never said that we had the right to disobey him.

i agree 100%. gays should not be allowed to get married. a marriage is between a man AND a woman. that's it. to allow gays to marry would be an insult marriage all the way to its basic foundation. if your gay there are some things you have to give up. marriage is first on the list.
