I have been wanting to buy a gaming pc and many that i come across have corsair (400mhz) in many gaming computers (ibuypower is all they put in it) Is corsair a high end ddr chip or should i look for somethign with ddr2 (633mhz)?

Corsair is very high quality ram. I use it in my own computers.

Corsair makes both DDR and DDR2. Either should serve you well. Technically speaking, DDR2 (currently on the intel side) is a little better than DDR (AMD or Intel). But the AMD procs are much better.

Bottom line? Pretty much any corsair ram is good for gaming, but for hardcore gaming just get some of the Corsair XMS series.

Your computer mite not accept a DDR2 chip. They are different than DDR in size and number of pins. You should check your current memory's type before adding any. Corsair is the best memory but costs more too. You get what you pay for.

Corsair and Kingston are the best RAM manufacturers in my opinion. Either will do the job for you.
