Geckos make decent pets. Their care is realtively easy, heat source, dry area, and a hide. The feed on variety of live prey, this is costly, couple dozen crickets a week, which becomes very expensive. This is the reason I feel they don't make good pets.
Yes, they MAY carry mites and disease, but so can ANY other animal, humans included. Don't believe the BS. For any animal, dog, cat, fish, rat, snake or any animal, wash your hands. Animals are dirtier since they don't wash like us and so giving a dog a wet kiss was transmit many diseases. As well cats feces contains a variety and pregnant women should avoid cleaning cat poop.
Anyway, geckos are a good beginner pet and do not carry any more disease than a dog or cat. The only thing I don't like about it is all the crickets and live feeders you have to buy and spend money on. The feeders cost more than the animal itself.

Geckos each and every of ways. Geckos are cool by means of fact they could walk on glass. Which snakes can so as that. Geckos do no longer chew until eventually provoked (or its a tokay gecko) in assessment to snakes who mistake arms as mice. Geckos are exciting to observe and so are snakes. yet snakes get boring after a on an identical time as. Snakes consume an identical way every time. Geckos do some thing distinctive each and every time. Snakes choose great tanks. Geckos only want a 5, 10 , 15 , 20 long , or 20 tall, until eventually you residing house pairs. And geckos are a sprint much lower priced than snakes. So i % to propose a Crested Gecko or a Leopard gecko.

I have never heard of anyone having a gecko as a pet. I used to get geckos from the outside (when I lived in Asia) and bring them inside ONLY for purposes of eating and catching mosquito's. They are not trainable of course, so do not know HOW you could make them a pet?

Yes geckos make awesome pets. I own 2 leopard geckos (1 of them being over 10 years old) and they are great. The one that is 10 is really calm with people he knows, otherwise he will bite if he don't know you. But the other one is still young, not even a year yet. So she is still pretty skittish. It is a matter of opinion, but mine is that they are awesome!

geckos make very good pets and you can tame them with hard work and determination. and just face it, every animal you get could be carrying a disease. It's the same difference if you are getting a cat ordog.

They can make good pets. Just make sure you do alot of research on the type of gecko you want before you buy one. Reptiles need special care to live in captivity.

no, try bearded dragon...they make better pets in the lizard family and are a lot more fun to watch. but as with all reptiles, keep surfaces clean and wash hands afterward because they carry salmanila...i hope i spelled that word correctly
