If you are the legal executor of the deceased relatives estate you will have no difficulty obtaining this relatives personal information. Consult a lawyer. However, if you were not named as executor of the estate, one would have to question your motives for obtaining the personal information of a deceased relative. If your motives are honest, & you are not the executor of the estate, then contact the executor of the estate for help, & go from there.

Have you tried asking the Social Security Administration.

I'm hoping this is for legal reasons - such as having to fill out tax forms.

It should be on the death certificate (or, at least it is in CA)
