If it's a brand new second mortgage, it's difficult to imagine the finance company wouldn't require your signature. If it's an existing line of credit through a current lender, I can see that will be possible. Why don't you examine the loan paper and find out.

He can borrow his share of the ownership of the home's value.

You might want to check with a local mortgage company about it. It could be that he has forged your signature to borrow an entire amount.

Thats disturbing. Maybe you should first find out why he's doing it behind your back. If its something that is unlike him, he might have a second home for you two, or retirement investment that you dont know about.

You best bet it to look into it through a mortgage broker, and then confront your husband about his doings.

If he wrote her a examine he probably isn't hiding an affair! Why could she misinform you? He seems to be like hiding the money situation. in case you had one bank account which you shared as a married couple you may no longer have hidden funds matters?
