I just turned 17 and he was 23 when me and my fiancé first got together. But one thing was that my parents had a hard time with it, until they got to know him better.

The influences are to great here, you've been outta High School and college even if you attended a 4 year college and your g/f is a softmore , maybe a Jr. in High School....You should have a direction toward where your efforts will lead you....or are you post-poning such committments until your g/f know what direction her life will take her, if not then yours are influencing her and if yes hers are influencing yours...the age gap can plant a seed of regret in the future....more than likely you both have a plan now....and at her age, hers will change somewhere in the future and then were will that leave you..and vice versa...if you wait a few more years to allow her to better understand what direction you both may go....it may not agree in your plans...shes to young to decide her future and your to old to put a stand still on your life without any guarantee hers will include you...its another reason underage can be considered illegal...there are reasons for such precautions.

Don't feel bad men have been dating and marrying women younger then them since the beginning of time. But, if her parents aren't tripping about that then neither should you. I'm 26years old and I've always dated older men then me. The man that I'm with now is 43years old and we've been together for the last six years, since I was 20years old. But before him I was 14 and dating a 21year old. But my thing is if you're not comfortable with her age then maybe you should leave, but if no one is making a big deal about then leave it alone before you mess up a good thing. If she was 23 and you were 29 would there still be a problem. No, so don't worry about think it's cool.

That's not bad, at least she is the age of consent. Some people think it's bad, other's don't. It all depends on how narrow minded they are or not. I am 22 dating a 17 year old, and noone knows about it where I am from yet because I know that they'll think it's disgusting. I come from a small community.

Its a little young, since you are considered an adult and she is not. It wont be a problem once she turns 18. So if you are really into her or love her then lay low for a year. Be careful, she is still very young even if the gap doesnt bother you.

She's still a teenager so if you ask me, Yes, she is too young. Besides your 23 don't you want a woman instead of a girl. That's what people are probably thinking.

Obviously in a sexually conservative country like the US, this is against a social norm! That doesn't necessarily mean it is bad though. The best thing you can do is to find out the opinion and views of her parents. Obviously they are the ones whose opinions count the most. They stand between you and jail. Age in reality is only relative and it is the mental maturity that can affect these types of relationships the most. Generally women mature quicker than men and so you both meet roughly in the middle. However, you have to really examine yourselves and decide if you are in this relationship because you're both "breaking the rules", or if it's because of this funny thing called love.

Think of this carefully. Are you really love her and willing to spent your live with her and not just playing her?If your answer is yes,you needn't to bother what other peoples views or what they says. For me,age is not a definitely not a problem if two people are really love each others. In this world,it is very hard to find someone your love and love you.So, if you find her,do treasure her.but in her teenage life, encourage her to put her studies before anythings. You all can date but make sure she can cope with her homework.ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND YOUR MRS RIGHT!

Due to the young age of the girl, you would be wise to stop where you are at. You could get in trouble for statutory rape and then you'll be marked for life. She doesn't have to turn you in either. It could be a parent, a so called friend, an enemy or someone who just wants to cause you grief. I highly suggest thinking about this relationship, is it worth giving up the rest of your life?
