We are the pinnacle of nature's attempt at life on earth as far as we know and so in this regard we the instruments of cosmos out of the chaos, we are the tools to bring order from the disorder. In so doing we are not only suited but we are the highest and the best.

Humans have a lot of potential, but we rarely use it. We *could* be protecting the environment and fixing our social problems and creating towers of crystal just because it's pretty, because we can do things animals can't. However, we usually get stuck being greedy and stupid and watching reality TV all day instead of actually living.
Not sure where the quote came from, but I'm sure I've heard it before.
