Is pretty lame do deny your own culture, your own race and try to be something that you are not. When you love someone you must learn to accept him as he is, without trying to be like him. If he loves you is probably because he likes the fact that you are different. The most beautiful thing about having a mixed relationship is that you can learn new things about a culture and share new beliefs but this doesn't mean you must adopt a new style to impress him.
My boyfriend is black and I find it very interesting when he tells me about the way he lives but I will never try to be a ''black'' girl, he said he loves my culture and he wants to know more about that. We never get bored talking about our differences and this way we are always in love. The differences make our union stronger.

There are many white women who date black men who do not act black. There are those who do as well... maybe they like the culture and that what draws them to black men... more the culture than anything else. But many don't even see the black and white, they just see the man and woman. And that is how it should be. Picking up traits from each other is something we all do, black, white brown or whatever. When you are that close to someone, some things just rub off. Some may ask the question why do those black guys act white? It's silly. They just are who they are and pick up traits from someone they are with most.

Well I would say because the white woman is around a different environment and is trying to adapt. (in a different situation) lets say a black girl dates a white boy, then she meets all of his white friends, starts hanging out with white girls. Before you know it she will be dressing like them and talking like them. I'm white and pretty much went to an all white school the few black people that were there didn't act or dress like the black girls that went to the all black school up town. So in other words when you adapt to your surroundings you will change.

Your so right and you take me to two examples.
1st People were trying to be who they were not.

The Gileadites seized the fords of the Jordan before the Ephraimites arrived. And when any Ephraimite who escaped said, “Let me cross over,” the men of Gilead would say to him, “Are you an Ephraimite?” If he said, “No,” then they would say to him, “Then say, ‘Shibboleth’!” And he would say, “Sibboleth,” for he could not pronounce it right. Then they would take him and kill him at the fords of the Jordan.
Judges 12:5-6

2nd Accepted the other culture without trying to be like them.

Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.

And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before.

So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife; and when he went in to her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bore a son. And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

So there is not need to try and be who you are not.

Shallow!!! Are you for real? Sure some people act like what they are not to fit in with another group.(not just a racial/cultural group) The man I am with did not choose to be with me because I am white, nor did I choose to be with him because he is black. I do not "try to!" .You sound like a man I work with who says most white women with black men are blondes. Let us be human, not stereotypes!

I don't know but I hate it.
Interracial dating is fine. But when white people try to act black they OVERact and its really stupid.
Also if everyone had sex with every race in a few generations we will all be the same color and that will be the end to a lot of problems!!

Just don't date black men! An eagle doesn't sleep in a dove's nest, although they are both birds!

i think that when she dates a black man, she feels that she has to act a certain way to be accepted.

because she wants to fit in and the man might want someone more like him, which i think is stupid and another example of racism. what you did was the smart thing to do, and i think more people should do it and there would be less racism in the world.
