Magic is only powerful if you believe in it. Prayer is the same way. Interestingly, hospital patients who knew people were praying for them, fared worse than those who didn't. Researchers theorized that they thought they must be really bad off for people to be praying for them so they died. Interesting, huh?

I suppose in esoteric/occult magic. And I suppose, however are not able to end up that it has an lifestyles external of the nation-states of psychology. ie I consider spells are not looking for the recipient to suppose within the lifestyles of magic, handiest that the caster believes it will paintings. If you assert in any other case give an explanation for how climate magic, and different spells which have an impact on that that are regularly looked as if it would be "inanimate strategies" paintings? Statement pronouncing the recipient has to suppose as good because the caster, could imply that the elements has to suppose in magic! Think a tough difference among magic being defined as white or black misses plenty out. As I consider magic is just a device, and as a result does not have any intrinsic alignment. A blade can also be positioned to a well use (surgical procedure), however it will also be positioned to a foul use (stabbing any person) It's handiest the rationale/results of it is use that might be found to be black or white. Even then the phrases black/white are more and more being noticeable as non-PC, and are traditionally changed with the phrases poor and constructive. --- A lot of what Wheatly talks approximately is with ease a pile of "headline grabbing" garbage tying into peoples preconceived recommendations. Perhaps attempt to see the 1971 movie "Simon King of The Witches" (despite the fact that the magic proven is commonly the hardly ever practised mesmerism) Also possibly attempt to see Haxan (1922) for a simply physiological rationalization (which could also be the mannequin which Freud constructed which reconed Multiple Sclerosis is physco-somatic, with out a bodily foundation! We recognise greater now)

If you believe in any kind of magic, you probably would also believe that there are forms of magic that would be considered "black"...that is, bad, evil, without light... But, it would also follow that there would be it's opposite, that being "white" magic. I have know a few Wiccans over the years, none of which practice or condone "black" magic. They believe that to do harm will only do harm in return...sound familiar? It should, it parallels exactly the "christian" expression, do unto others as you would have done onto you. As for practitioners of the black arts, well, you would have to ask them what their intent was...

Black magic, ghosts, spirits and all the other things that people seem to give great power to is real and can do things good and bad. That is they are real to the person tht believes and therefor can affect their lives. I am not one to believe in these things and have no problem with them bothering me.

No, I am Christian. I believe in God and Jesus. I do not try to call on dead people and spirits. That's foolishness. Once you start with black magic, voodoo or any other type of the unreligious spector, you are inviting the Devil into your life. Life's complicated enough. Keep goodness in your heart and pray for the people who are lost as they journey through their individual lives.

It does whatever the intent that's put behind it directs it to do.
"Black" magic is a subjective term. I honestly don't know what you mean by it. Are you referring to ceremonial magic and the calling and commanding of demons and spirits? Or are you speaking of the dark side of witchcraft? which is quite a different matter altogether. Or are you referring to voodoo, which is even still hugely different?

It comes from the inside. There is no black or white magic making us do anything, nor is there a satan or a god telling us what to do. That's all excuses. People are responsible for their own actions. We each are capable of the full spectrum of good and bad. We are the monsters and saviors. People chose to be and do good, or to be and do bad, and sometimes a little of both. Sometimes holy people can do the most evil things. Sometimes evil people can do good. More often, evil people say they are doing god's work, and the good people call themselves sinners and apologize for not doing enough. People created both god and devil. Each of us inside is both god and devil, both good and evil.

I believe there are people practicing black 'majic' and trying to affect others with their rituals. We are each body, mind, spirit and the more we take charge of these aspects of self, the less others thoughts, emotions, etc. will affect us.
