Haha! :D I love this question!
It's interesting because, when you think of it at first, the most obvious answer seems to be the egg...BUT, where does the egg come from? It has to come from somewhere so you begin thinking the hen is actually what comes first. But then that too is tricky since the hen has to come from somewhere too! It's crazy! Lol :D
I think I'll go with the egg though.. Or maybe the hen...

I my self had this question. And I read a book about evolution of life.
Here is my conclusion and the details.
Well according to current knowledge first there was a tiny one cell life form which other life forms evolved. And then all other life forms proceeded and evolved to current stages. And it is belived that the first life forms were formed in watar or water like jell matter. After life in the water the life forms were changing and evolving slowly in new life forms and then they got out of water. Then some species evolved into laying eggs(Hens) or having children (like all mamells excluding platipus) perpertuating their breed and some were breaking themselves in to two or many and evolving like virusus.
So the question should not be whether it is the hen or the egg first came but what species was here on the planet first.?
You may not understand my explanation much, but if you read about evolution you may know what i am talking of.
And please remember I am accountant, and not an science person

this is a fascinating question about the creation of our universe.
The matter from which the cosmic bodies (planets, comets...) were formed was from the condensation of matter, or the union of matter which came together to form a cosmic egg. This then contracted inwards so mouch that it exploded, spreading matter all over the universe in the form of clouds. This then condensed into a core, which spinned over itself, creating a solid matter, known as planets.
