Words and meter (rhythm).
You don't need rhymes.

Rhythm and Rhyme

Many people overlook the rhythm. This is not just the rhythm that you would sing or say but how many cylables each line has. Alternate long short long short or any pattern that you choose. Various haiku's have set amounts of cylables for each line. 3 2 4 and stuff like that. Each one being a different haiku form.

your basic poem has rhymes...

like...

The Cat in the Hat
Had a Bat and a Rat

And it usually has meter....i.e. a beat

Simplicity
Easy to Read

A Point, or solution not a rambling
