I've done all aspects of hte industry - even on the corporate level - and desperately want a new job - why cant i get one?

Perhaps you have not done them well. That would be my guess. Usually if you work somewhere the vendors and customers will offer you jobs if you are really good. Experience alone doesn't cut it. Outstanding performance that will be noticed is what does it. I think you should start your own business to prove that you can succeed. Just start your own place.

Consider a related field like distribution or equipment sales. That way your related experience will help you and you won't have to start at 'entry-level' somewhere. Check with your contacts in the field (people your company does business with).

I'm a bartender, and my advice to you would be to network a job through your existing patrons. I've had great luck that way. I've gotten all kinds of offers and part time gigs. Good luck!
