bikoz amerikans are ful of shet&pus and I dont like dem at allIn my opinion - America has always been the land of the 'i wants'. And if they can't have, somebody has to pay. Everything is always somebody else's fault. Talking out a problem and reaching a sensible solution is no longer seen as the sensible thing to do. Everything has a value on it, and if it gets lost, stolen, broken, kidnapped, destroyed - well, don't worry, money will make it all better. Apologies to those Americans who aren't consumed by the American Must Have Dreami think its because my auntie Sue is a very nice person.always willing to help and ready with a cheery smile.my aunty Sue.Careful... this question could be offensive. They might sue!

Lol, just remembered, a few years ago I heard of this case where this American woman kept suing EVERYONE for just about Everything. Eventually the court told her she couldn;t sue anyone any more 'cos she was abusing the legal system. So she sued them!

Unfortunately this is true, and more unfortunately I can't find the link for you, but it's hilarrrrrrrious and SO American!I heard it was down to two factors:
1: The American dream actually exists (or existed). In Europe money and power has traditionally been held by royals and nobles, however in the states the 'working man' can really triumph for example Bill Gates. The media feeds these stories and it gives hope, so people try to get rich quick by whatever means.
2: As they don't have a rely welfare state they know that the risk of extreme poverty can exist (in Europe we are generally protected from this) and so, as in all cases you have a large contrast between success and failure. Those that don't have success (I mean by this decent jobs, a roof over their heads etc) will try to get it this way, and those that do have success try and protect their status.

OK, so it all boils down to money
Because we CAN be. (even tho it's nothing to be proud of)

An Amercian citizen bought a packet of cigars and insured the same against burning. He smoked the whole lot and filed a claim against the insurance company for compensation. The court issued a verdict in his favour. Then he was sued in a seperate case for intentional destruction of property and had to pay an amount exceeding the amount payable by the insurance company in addition to a long sojourn in a jailhouse. It is a true story. No comment

It comes to a cultural difference. They know that they can actually profit from any situation and it has become the norm to sue. I think in other countries where the big awards are not given then people don't see it as necessary to sue.

It is a bad habit of blame

I say a individual could be "anti" a company without being "anti" the folk who're individuals of that company.. you are going to be "anti" secret societies like the Masons and nevertheless think of very rather of the folk in contact in it, and the solid works they do. So your Black/White desire for an answer to what's "anti" is a coat of many colours.. IHS Jim

Everyone has a duty of care to every other person they come in contact with so Britain could end up like USA - it is catching up fast! But I would guess for a fast buck!
