I have already restored my computer (reformatted hard drive) a few times already, & it still restarts even when I select "Shut Down". Is it a problem with the switch?

I had this problem for several weeks - I'd turn it off at night and it would restart later. With me, it was a virus however, if you have reformated your drive, than this would indicate a physical problem such as the power supply or the switch - unfortunately, this sounds like a job for a professional.

If the last thing you (or a tech) did was a restart, then it may be continuing to use the old selection.

Follow the path Start -> Shutdown. The Shut Down Windows pop-up screen should appear. Make sure the drop-down menu says "Shutdown" and not "Restart."

So i does not have concept its a application issue as no application is loaded while it has close down, yet it wont capability (as though some style of re-settable fuse is led to) i assume that kernel message is from the form viewer? If no longer, examine the equipment tab below journey viewer and notice what the final log is in the previous it cuts capability. additionally examine extra thoroughly below what situations, i.e do you could disconnect the plug or are you able to leave it linked however the workstation off for a whilst? Are there any status lights or noise from the psu in any respect i.e fan working? would desire to something be shorting the PSU or the PSU isn't sufficient adequate? i'd propose eliminating each and every thing yet whats needed, i.e motherboard, cpu, ram and hdd boot.

It may be...otherwise check for hardware conflicts, usually a blue screen will flash for a few seconds before restarting. If this is the case, then you must check for hardware conflicts.

it may be caused because of the reinstallation, i.e. the the installation was not done accurately. What you can do is, format the disk and re-install.
