After they have served their sentence?

No. Paedophiles admit themselves that they will reoffend. They can't help themselves. It's an overwhelming desire within them that drives them to such monstrosities. However, it is possible that they are repentant, and that prison is extremely unmerciful for Paedophiles. As such, they should be released from prison after their sentence is complete, and into full -time residential Psychiatric care, like a sealed community, into which no innocent children must ever venture. It will remain a prison because it must be secure, but it will contain only child-molesters. Psychiatric help should be available to these individuals as it may be that they have traumatic pasts themselves, but they should never, ever be released into society - ours or another.

It is true that this will rely on the tax-payer's money, but who would rather they roamed the streets amongst our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews than we paid a few extra quid to keep them locked away?

P.S. Castration is a good idea in theory, but they still have hands and mouths... (sorry to be distasteful, but it's an ugly truth...)

OK, now this is tricky... First off, chances are their sentences have been WAY too lenient. Now, for some reason, our prison systems have taken on the role of being a source for reform - and NOT a punishment. There have been more strict laws implemented in recent months to make sentencing guidelines for convicted child molesters (Jessicas law), but not all state have adopted this. I think they can be allowed back into society again, if they've served a long enough sentence and if they are forced to register as a convicted sex offender, and if they agree to wear some gps tracking device. While this doesn't prevent any recurrences by the offender, because there's really no way to prevent against these happenings 100%, it does give the authorities the ability to more easily make their case if it does happen, since they will always know the location of the offender and time the offender was at that location.

No, No, No, No. A mother whose daughter was killed by a paedophile wrote a book and in it she was saying that she was told during the investigation that paedophiles are attracted to children, the same way that women like men, or a gay man would be attracted to another man. They will never change or reform, and will always be a risk to our young children.

It depends on the offence. Someone was convicted as a sex offender for having child porn on their computer that they did NOT know they had as it had been downloaded by a virus. The offence is being in possession of, not knowing you had it.

Would you consider that person to be a danger? This is why I do a deep scan of my hard drive every so often to check nothing extra is on it that I don't know about. Also do not allow any one else to use your PC

Are they not human?

And Pedaphiles are women to, just you only hear of the men attacking children, however there are 40 year old women having sex with 13 and 8 year old boys.

If you keep them in jail then the jails will over fill,

Bring back military conscriptions that would fix the problem.

NO WAY!!!!!!! paedophiles should be sent to labs an all the poor animals who are been cruely tested on can be free. And then the scientists can experiment on these people who are'nt human and don't have the right to free will.

sadly it is not recognised as a mental illness so they cannot be held indefinitely. They should really be called paedosexuals for their tendencies but it is the grooming and befriending of the child that is just as evil. They shouldn't be allowed back and if you feel like this then write to your MP and lobby for change. That's the beauty of democracy. Don't just moan get it changed!

No...i dont think so. But its strange because having sex with young children is only viewed as wrong because society says its wrong. Its all a social construction. In Ancient Greece men used to have wives for babies, but then a small boy for sex.

Its only viewed as wrong because some decided it was!!!

By the way, don't go thinking i support paeophilia because i really do not...its most definately wrong!!!!!!

No, absolutely no way on this earth. They should be chemically castrated so the impulse to hurt children is removed completely. Failing that, they should be properly castrated. Finito. Gone. Children safe.
