People first thought it was cursed, but recent discoveries show that is most likely due to Methane gas which bubbles up to the surface. When methane reacts with oxygen, it is the perfect cause for a disaster. Also when methane rises in the air, it can easily shut off the engine of a plane, causing it to spin out of control and crash.

The bermuda triangle effect seems to have dissappeared following the development of GPS navigation techniques, so maybe there were a few coincidences and a lot of mythology.

There is a magnetic pull from somewhere in the ocean that is not open all the time so it does not pull every ship/plane down but when its open, that's why it happens.
No known cause/source for this magnetic pull.

They don't.

Hundreds of vessels cross the area every day without disappearing in the slightest bit.

Otherwise Miami airport would have a bad reputation.
