Ditto as with JC, the trick to removal of the program is to keep it from running in the background. You do this by booting into safe mode( hold down F8 while the computer starts). Then run your removal programs. When your in safe mode, only the important stuff runs but you can run programs such as antivirus or utility programs. What I do is type in a search for programs that will remove the program that has hijacked your computer. Then follow the instructions. Wich will probably have you run them in safe mode. The link in JC's response is the antidote. Good Luck.

Once you've used the advice to get rid of it, you can stop it coming back. Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to I.E.

run msconfig and deselect this program.
Restart your PC and run your anti virus software. This should get rid of most of it.
Try to locate the folder for this program and delete it.
If all else fails, reformat your hard drive and reinstall everything
