He was always on the phone talking to his psycho girlfriend at the time, and never getting his work done. He was losing equipment and lying to everyone about everything and was caught in those lies. While he was in that toxic relationship, he had just gone bad. He quit because of her and almost lost all his friendships with the crew. He didn't explain anything to anyone so they didn't know what to think. Steve was his partner and he didn't even know! Love that show. Season 1 is on dvd.
