I only own my PC a month and so far I have removed more than 2000 tracking cookies and spyware and over 15 dialers. Is that too much?

Number 1 spyware and cookies are aimed at unsecure sites, stay away from the porn, and most sites that ask for your permission to open - yahoo is ok, as are any with the verisecure sign - also be v careful of download sites, and anything that looks suspicious, check your comp every two or three days, and update you antivirus and anti spy/shareware cleaners every time, it suggests you need to, a good thing to do is to also, clean out your browser and java cache everytime you turn off your computer.

Yeah, definitely.

Consider going easier on all of the following (if you do so)
A) Porn
B) Limewire/Kazaa/P2P

Also, you may want some active protection.

Java Cool Software's JavaCoo lSpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) is one that blocks cookies and many downloads for free.

Another free program is Microsoft Defender (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en) . It too has active protection.

Stay safe online! Be more careful with what you download. If you are lacking antivirus, or running a year old norton trial, uninstall it and install Avast! Home edition (www.avast.com). It requires registration but I can assure you that they only use your email for the key.

Also, if you need a firewall, ZoneAlarm (http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html) is a good free one.

Let me know if this helps!

Yes. You must be clicking on the wrong things. Stick to the previews in the porn sites.

I don't know if it is too much, but maybe you should buy Lavasoft Ad-aware SE Professional, and of course , also Norton Antivirus 2006. Good luck!

No, you're trying to explore the internet. Try to prevent them using antivirus and antispyware programs that have real-time protection.
