In programming a webpage, is there a way to avoid getting ActiveX warnings in IE when using the tag? Or, is there a way to program wav files to play when clicked using Quicktime but without opening a new page and still avoiding ActiveX warnings?

Thats a browser issue. The only way the person on the client side can avoid that from happening is to go into TOOLS, Internet Options, and then Security. Under the security tab, in CUSTOM LEVEL, there are options in there to download and give script warnings about Active X being present on a website. This can only be done on the client side. I do not think there is a special HTML tag that will prevent this from happening.
And when it comes to play .Wav files, it depends on the client side too. It will open with the default software that the user has set his computer to use to play .wav files.
