I am a true believer as you are, the way I see it;
When we are first born there are things that we do know, as we grow we lose certain abilities, example: Have you ever notice how little babies look at things, we as adults can't see them, that's because we have closed our eyes & minds to them, and how children seem to have talks with people who are not there?
Who's to say that there isn't no one there?
When we adults hear our children talking to them selfves we tell them to stop, so they grow out of it, we close their minds off from it, because that is what we are taught as children becoming adults.
There is something bigger than us it's there all around us everyday, all the time, it's just that we are so closed minded that we think that this is it.
What we can't explain we either ignore, or destory that is human nature, I agree with you in the future the people will look back on our time and see how shallow, self serving and closed minded we were as a people.
Hopefully by then someone will have figured out how to make those changes right.

I hv a question for u which will clear ur doubt logically what i personally feel.
Just tell me in our technolocally developed society though we r are able to innovate computer alternative of humanbeing-but not yet able to create a life which is a biological process & that happens no physician is doing that.if that is natural means some power/spirit is there.if we belive God the unseen power then we hv trust that there is life after death.

All options are possible.
If we think of the soul as a form of energy that by the death of the body, this energy is transformed into another form, maybe in another place. We know so little of our universe; we even know so little of our solar system.
Our imagination is limited. Lives beyond our imagination is very possible and probable.

Science does say, "If it can't be seen, heard, touched, felt, or smelled, it cannot be." But our minds are powerful, too powerful that we've created thoughts out of nothing. Maybe there is an afterlife, for out of nothing it was created. There's a life after this.

You wrote: "What if we dont have the ability to understand what the after life is about?" and that you "...don't think religion is a factor at all." I agree about the "religion" part but cannot dismiss the Christianity part. There are also no explanations about much of the teachings of The Christ, either. We accept them or we don't. It's all about faith, no matter which way you believe. Athiests have faith that their beliefs are right; Pagans have faith that their beliefs are right; those who believe in Universal energy have faith that their beliefs are right; those who believe in ghosts have faith that ghosts exist; and so on. It is impossible to separate faith from belief, regardless of the belief. If one believes it, yet cannot see it, then it is faith that substantiates the belief.
Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, said "...Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Heb 11:1 NIV)
There have been so many reports from people who have technically died (operating table, accidents, etc.), as mentioned by one Answerer, who all report basically the same thing: seeing their body as they float above it, seeing the Light that draws them toward it, seeing faces of loved ones who they somehow 'know' have come to assist them, seeing the face of Jesus; and, being told that it is "not yet their time." Based on that, how can we deny that there is an afterlife?
Even if one does not believe in God, it is difficult to explain away all the almost identical accountings of people who have "died" for several minutes; people of all ages, people all over the world, all experiencing and reporting essentially the same thing.
One Answerer mentions Ecclesiastes 9:5. The NIV Bible says "For the living know they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten." But read it to the end of that Chapter. And remember that the Old Testament is considered "history." This was all before The Christ. In those days, one lived as one was supposed to according to **Law** in order to live after death, including sacrifices. What it is saying is that if you fail to live as you should, there are no more chances after death to rectify your choice of life. Changing the choices of life are available only to the living.
Jesus said in John 14:2 (NIV) "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
We cannot truly know all that was ever prepared to be part of the Bible because man has changed, altered, revised and discarded so much of it though the years. Further, we all know that the Bible is, for the most part, open to interpretation of the reader. However, why would Jesus tell us He was going to prepare a place for us if there is no place for us?
He also tells us he goes to prepare a ROOM for us. To me, that says that what is commonly referred to as "Heaven" is much more than streets paved with gold and gates of pearl. Perhaps our "room" is all of our own, individual deepest desires. Your "room" wouldn't be the same as my "room," would it? Some people would, of course, have streets of gold and gates of pearl because they believe so literally that this is what they expect; to them, that IS Heaven."
In terms of phenomena such as you mention above, I believe that people leave behind energy. Particularly those that are super-charged with emotion when they die or are killed. I'm not sure how much psychic stuff I believe in, but I do think it is possible for people to leave behind energy that re-plays itself over and over like a movie. The Universe IS energy, so it seems logical to me that energy can get "stuck," so to speak.
Personally, I have no doubt that there is an afterlife. The bodies we use here are just shells that are in use here. They don't go with us; if they did, they wouldn't rot away.
You posed a great question, and if you believe it just "is," then for you, I suppose it "just .... is." For me, I can put my *faith* in the Bible, as I read it, and follow what The Christ has said to be best of my fallible human ability. But, while I don't want to go just yet, I have to admit I'm a little excited to see what my Room will look like. =)

Seeing is believing.in the primitive society ppl couldnt understand and believe in things that they cant see. thats why god and prophets showed some miracles them. they brought to life dead person, divided moon two parts... in our time poples intelligent and technology developed so we can understand everything. we dont surprise as we do in dark ages. we can find the truth by our wisdom and intelligent. we had to believe if we could see invisible things . everybody might believe in god in this case. The main virtue is the believing god unless u couldnt see in our time. You can feel, perceive , sense, understand ...
I dont think all of this cosmos created for nothing or by chanceor by accident.do u think so?

Don't be confused by others opinions, make your own choice regarding life after death, I believe that what ever people choose to believe will be exactly what occurs after death, thus if one chooses to believe that this is it, then that's exactly what they'll get, and as for people that choose to believe in Heaven, hell, and reincarnation...then that's what they'll get.

once you die, your spitirual energy or "Chi" will so into another form, this form will count on how much of a life u live in the past- if u were a good person you would be another person, but if u werent so good u would be an animal, this is wht us buddists believe in

Most people believe that it does. But we can't know for sure until we die. So lets do good....just in case there is an afterlife & hell & heave n etc. There's no second chance & we won't be sent back to this world....... sooo, lets not ruin our one and only chance to be good & avoid hell.
well...thats just my opinion.

No
there isn't the slightest hint that there is an afterlife. The body decays and all its functions cease.
