i must have done something to stop sound from being heard but not sure what.

Hmm try this Go to control panel click on sound,Speech,Audio device and then sound audio device Check the box place an icon in the task bar and check weather it is in MUTE or not..If this does not work Try this right click on my computer > Properties > Hardware > Then click on Device manager > Then check in Sound Video game controllers by opening down see weather the sound drivers or enabled or not in case if that sound driver show any yellow Question mark on it Re Install drivers again and try if still does not work mail me satish.dreamz@gmail.com

Ist i'd make sure the speakers were turned on and the volume on the speakers was turned up. if everything appears fine go into Help and follow the prompts.

May be you lost the audio drivers. If u r using windows then just go to control panel->system->Hardware->device managers -> sound controllers and then update the drivers.
