Why is my poo brown?

It's not dead red blood cells. It's bile pigments that turn it brown, specifically a compound called bilirubin. If your body stops producing bile your feces can turn white.

Take some iron pills and it will turn black. Make yourself malnourished and it will turn yellow. Eliminate iron from your diet and it will turn green. If this is not enough entertainment for you buy some clothes dyes and drop a different one in the water everytime you go-giving you the illusion of a different colour everytime.
