My things keep coming up missing and my husband is just the sick, sadistic type that would do it. Yesterday, it was my check from work. It has disappeared. This morning, my cigarettes were missing-I had half a pack when I went to bed.

Abuse takes many forms. Don't wait until he hits you. The kind of thing you are describing can escalate to a violent death. get help and get out. contact a shelter or women's help group now! Don't become another statistic!

There's a reason behind it, maybe he thinks it's funny, maybe he's trying to teach you not to leave your stuff laying around (is he a neat freak who gripes at you for leaving things laying about?), or maybe he's just being plain mean (by taking your money or cigs, maybe he wants it for himself, you SHOULD be able to go to your employer and have them put a stop on the missing check and get them to issue you another). I dunno, either way you should confront him about it, quite possibly you're just imagining these things (I get really forgetful RIGHT before I have my period, and also the times where I've been pregnant, some people get moody and pisssy, I get stupid). But if he's doing it to be funny mostlikely he WON'T admit to it, and the problem will get worse (because he knows it's getting to you). You need to let him know that it is NOT funny when your MONEY goes missing and you aren't able to pay the bills.

Sounds about right, my man lies and that really pisses me off. I guess you could call the place you work for and tell them that your check was stolen out of your perse and you don't know who has it...they will put a stop on that check so he can't cash it and spend it and then send you a new check, just don't tell him. Best wishes

maybe you should re-examine your relationship, maybe he's not the great guy you thought he was before you got married, no spouse should be the "sadistic type", you deserve better!
