An open marriage is two consenting adults getting married and not having an exclusive sex life with each other.
There are some women out there that like the idea or having a husband or partner, but still having the single aspect of life. The idea of having a mortgage, annual holidays, nights in front of the TV appeal to most women. But the aspect of being able to go out somewhere, have a few drinks and getting to have sex with someone that ISN'T your husband...really appeals to them.
You get the security of a marriage and someone who is there for you when you are sick...but you also get the naughty sex side too.
Its either that or maybe one isn't as good in bed as the other is!

An open marriage is when you are able to date and have sex with others and the reason a woman would want to be a part of it is so that they can have variety, assuming that they need that in their life.

An open marriage is when both people agree that they can have sex with other people. There are women out there that do not want to or do not like to remain monogomous. Same as there are men. They feel mongomy is outdated and unrealistic. So they are in agreement that they each can have sex with other people as long as they come home to each other every night and use protection. Now on open marriage can only work if both people agree to it and are comfortable with it.

I suppose an open marriage would entail having multiple partners, I then assume that a woman could have as many sexual partners as she wanted. I think I would like that sometimes and then other times I know I'm a one man woman and would feel very hurt by my hubby having sex with other women. Best wishes

An open marriage is when both partners are free to seek out others for sex. A woman is just as likely as a male to want to take advantage of this. As long as both partners return to the marital home, and do not become involved with their sexual partners (yes, sometimes easier said than done) it can be an exciting event (s). And maybe you can both learn more about how you like to be pleased, and how to please each other.

I have a hard time believing that an open marriage could ever be happy or healthy. Where is the intimacy in that? Does that mean that the couple actually has sex together??? What's the point!?

An open marriage is when a married couple sleeps with whoever they want. A wife that partakes of this has no more sense than her husband does.

I personally would not want to be a part of that at all... I feel it is wrong and immoral and can only lead to heartacke pain and divorce and also many consequences like unwanted pregnancies and STDs. Is the pleasure really worht the risk of all of that!
