As the name suggest, "Sulabh" means easily available and "Sauchalyas" means toilets. These toilets are public conveniences clean, reasonably lit with attandents on duty during their operational hours. They charge a token sum for use on 'use and pay' basis.. Since they are far better managed and maintained than the governemnt / municipal run facilities and are available to public for use at desired places all over a city or town, they are famous.
