I'm a fan of Emmy Rossum, but even she couldn't save the recent movie. I admit, it had a few good moments, but it was to cheesy. The lines and plot too predictable. And I haven't even seen the original, so I had no idea what to expect.

I prefer the special effects in the new version, but I think the story line was a hair better in the 1972 version!

I have not seen them but id got with the new one because the original was filled with bad writting. Example, "If any rescuse attempt is to be made it would have to come from the hull" Gene Hackman's charater then jumps in and says, "The hull you mean from the bottom?....Thats right we're floating upside down."
Dont know about you guys but if I was a surivor of a cruise liner that had been over turned by a tidal wave, I would not forget that we were floating upside down. Anyone agree
