Bio-Diesel is the best alternative and answer to the increasing fuel prices and also to the degrading environment. The best thing about Bio-Diesel is that it can be grown at home and can be mixed with conventional Diesel in Diesel powered cars. It is extremely safe for the car and even for the environment.

Safe for the car, or safe for the people that will be smelling the fumes? It is safe for the car, but depending upon the source of the biodiesel, it will be at least a nuisance. Biodiesel has a tendency to be a bit more smelly with more particulates in the exhaust.

A note to WillF... you need to do some research prior to answering questions. Biodiesel is cleaner burning, less odor, less particulates than regular diesel. Check out the website below for a ton of great info. WillF you might want to check it out also.
Have fun!

It's safe, but not "totally" safe. Currently there're no regulatory quidlines for bio-diesel, so you may not be getting the product you think. It's why most trucking companies refuse to put it in their trucks. Depending on how heavy your use is, minor impurities could build up and be harmful to the engine
