iam presently in love with a lady of about 39yrs old. iam jobless in her country, secoundly im still waiting for my work-permit to arrive from the government. but this lady has not really told me why she dont want to work. i mean i cannot afford to live with a girl that have an opportunity to work but some how shys away from work. pls what do i do, quit the relationship or continue. help me pls.

You need to find a job. When and if you marry you have to be the sole supporter and provider in the home. She should not have to work ... Wait for your permit then get a job when it comes. Do not break up over this!

Well you need to take a look at their culture. Just because in America women can and do work doesn't necessarily mean it is the same for her country. If you had a job would this bother you? Or are you looking to sponge off of her and that is why she doesn't want to work.

Some women firmly believe that its the man's job to take care of them and provide financially. If you are not one that buys into that philosophy, perhaps you should find someone that believes in your beliefs of a woman working.

What is the big deal if she does not want to work you do not sound as if food is scarce so look for a job yourself or dump her and just in passing you sound like a bloody wanker

If it really bothers you then leave her alone and i bet she will find a job quick fast if she feels threatened by you leaving her. Or she is just that lazy. Leave her alone. It will only get worse. What if you have kids with her? She will be to lazy to change diapers.

maybe she is sick of working - maybe she doesn't trust you to get a work permit and work sincerely. maybe she thinks you're misusing her and wants to be sure you're not. why don't you wait till you get your permit, and tell her she has to find a job now coz both of you have to bring the money in. if she agrees, cool, if not and it bothers you, leave her

she probably expects you to bring in the money as is tradition in many cultures, talk to her about it. if you have different views on the roles of men and women, in marriage, then why stay? you will have more and more problems.
