I have read that the Aramaic(the language Jesus spoke) word for God is almost identical to the Arabic, but some so -called Christian and Jewish scholars are tring to tell us that it's wrong saying it means somethig like "oak" - or something like that.

That's just as foolish as saying the English word, God, really sounds like the word "got". So, using the same mentality, while the Muslims talk about oak, Christians are talking about "obtained". Sounds pretty stupid all around.

What I really want to understand is why some Jews and Christians want to create a bigger schism between their religions and Islam. Islam honors all the greats of the Judeo-Christian heritage and is clearly the third in the procession of the three major Western religions. And, just like the original of the three, Judeism, does not consider Jesus the Messiah. Instead, unlike Judeism, they honor Jesus as a great prophet. Clearly, they worship the ONE GOD that we worship.

My question really has to do with the propriety of such a movement. What is their rationale???

What's the misinterpretation?

I don't get it.

I've heard Muslims say they worship the same god as Christians.

Untrue.

The Koran denounces the idea that Jesus is the son of god.

Muslims don't believe in the 3 in 1 god of the Christians.

If you want people to think you have the same god, say god, not Allah. I heard a Muslim say that it's considered better for prayers to be in Arabic, because Arabic is god's language, this is another way your idea of god is different.

You believe in a god who sent Jesus as a phrophet, and wrote the Koran: Allah. Jews don't believe in that god.

Could you give some examples of how you think Christians and Jews are misrepresenting?

I think you and them are all sincere. I think you all believe in nonsense.

You classify them as infidels?

People of the book infidels?

Unless my translation is corrupted, the Koran says the infidels will suffer a horrible punishment.

A lot of Christians think the same fate is in store for you.

You don't think the three religions are very far apart?

You think Christians and Jews intentionally distort god's word?

I don't understand you.

Doesn't the origional scriptures write his name as "YHVH" ?

When Moses asked "What is your name?" he was given the answer Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, which literally means, "I am that I am," as a parallel to the tetragrammaton YHWH.

There was no vowels and I believe was impossible for man to speak his name. So we added vowels and came up with translations such as Yahweh.

You cannot know the true name of "God". All "names" attributed to him are simply interpretations, phonetic sounds originating from native languages or dialects. Besides, does He need a name?
