An online friend I've known for 3 months told me that he felt it better not to meet me, although it's not a bit of a problem for me. Can anyone out there tell me why you think he feels this way? Thanks.

Women are more idealistic than men, therefore in a supposedly make-believe world like online chatting, they tend to look out for signs of sincerity. Once they see one, or at least they think they see one, it's a domino effect. Men are children by nature, therefore in a make-believe world, there are likely more men who would like to keep their little world apart from the real world. But of course, it's just a stereotype, but don't take my word for it - ask around!

Maybe he is not used to / doesn't feel comfortable with making online relationships a real thing by meeting personally.

Impossible to say for sure. The best way to figure it out is to ask. If I had to guess, I would say I sometimes choose not to meet people who seem too emotionally needy.

maybe... he's not comfortable meeting with people he just met over the internet. i guess... well, you really never know with the internet nowadays... for all you know, you could have been talking to some gay drunk truck driver who said he was Jessica Alba's cousin.

doesn't make a difference. You shouldn't even consider meeting a stranger. What they say & what you get could be two different things. :o(

That's weird. He obviously isn't who he has been presenting to you. Maybe he's married, or he's not who he says he is (not the age, description). Maybe he's uncomfortable with his looks. If he's sent you a picture, maybe it was from years ago, or not him.

I would drop him.

Shyness only goes so far..
Ask him directly for his reasons, if he does not answer you he has lied about who and what he is.

Because he is not what he say he is and prefer living a lie.
