I used a pregnancy test that came from the dollar tree ($1.00) and it was positive and yes i was pregnant.
What's the best test to use? This seems to change periodically! Some tests are well-liked and then a "bad batch" comes out, and some tests are known for being duds but then switch manufacturers and redeem themselves. See the HPT Overview section for current comments on each brand.
If you are trying to detect a pregnancy 13 DPO or earlier, you probably want to use a more sensitive brand. Anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG (English: anything that detects a tiny bit of pregnancy hormone) is good for early testing. See the HPT Overview section to see which tests are most sensitive and the HPT Showdown for a real-life comparison of 15 brands.
Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.
Just because some tests are higher than others does not make them better than others. yes you can find a dud in a batch but my mom took a E.P.T test and it was negative when she was 1 1/2 months pregnant
Good Luck

It depends. Some dollar stores get product that just isn't moving from other stores. Those other stores sell to the dollar store super cheap or give them away.
Sometimes dollar stores get "mistake items". For instance, usually when you buy colored pencils they are sharpened. When you get them from the $$ store they may not be...manufacturers defect.
It all depends.

I wouldn't put all my faith in trust in any dollar store item. I would sacrifice $10 more and get a regular one. Clear Blue answered my question right away. It was 3 days after my missed period

Check the expiration date before buying. If pregnant you will have to get a blood test anyway to confirm regardless of what OTC test you buy.
